This is a WP class steam locomotive which was used throughout India to haul passenger express trains.It is unique to India as it was the first American built locomotive specifically designed for Indian conditions.Designed by Baldwin of Philadelphia which was quite a famous manufacturer,the first batch was superseded by imports from Canada and Poland.Later years saw the WP produced indigenously at Chitaranjan.It appears that this locomotive is still capable of steaming on special occasions.
