Hello. My name is Anand Sharma, and after a span of many years I decided to just look up St. Mark's High School. I joined the school in 1955 or 1956 in KG 1 with Miss Fernandez as my teacher. I left the school in Std. 6th in 1961 as we moved to Bombay. I vividly recall my teachers: Miss Wilby, Mrs. Bailes, Mrs. Castelino, Mr. Beacham, Mr. Phllips, Mr. Thakore, Mrs. Lall. And also some of my classmates: Satish Malhotra, Solomon Bodmas, Hukumat Rai Sharma, Dawn Crocker, Gwen Connolly, Charlotte Da Costa, Saramma Verghese, Satish Hivaley, Alexander Phillips (son of Mr. Phillips), Bharath Bhushan, the Agarwal sisters, and I can't recall any more. I still have the Silver Jubilee High School picture which was taken in 1956. I did have an opportunity to visit the school almost ten years ago and felt both happy and sad. Sad for having lost all those wonderful childhood memories. I am a retired engineering professor and currently live in Wisconsin, USA.

I am so happy that you wrote something. We were also during the same period with the same teachers. We left Jhansi in 1965 as my father worked in the near by railway hospital. We as a family were Asha, Shashikale, me Sucheeta and my younger brother Prakash (victor) our family name was Thombre we left for Maharastra and my sister Shashi tayed back to finish her high school with her friend Jerrene Jhangir, I knew the following names; Mukesh Banti, Barath Bushan, Dawn Crocker, David,Laxman etc. Lajwanti and suneeta Bella were juniors. If any one could contact me I would appreciate some input into where we all are; I am a OBGYN and a US citizen.

I studied from 9th to 12th during 1985 to 1988 . What a school I never seen in my life I missed marvalious building and big playground and nd very big teachnical block where I complete my teachnical studies really I missed .

My name is Gail Storey.I was born in Jhansi, November 1945.I was babtised in St Martins Church but not sure of the date but I was taken to the Uk about March 1946. My mother wife of Major HW Storey died 11 December 1945 and is buried in the Jhansi Cemetery. The last time I visited Jhansi was in 2005,when I stayed for 6 months.

this college is more than 70 years old not 50.

Hello. I am so pleased to have found this site. I have family history in Jhansi and in St. Martin's Church. My grandmother, Ivy Adelaide Ethel Ducann and her siblings were baptised there. The youngest sibling, Mervyn Ducann who died around the age of 3 years old is buried there. I have not been able to find my great grandfather's burial place and wonder if it is in St Martins. His name is Henry DuCann (sometimes known as Harry). Henry was a military bandmaster in the Wilde's 4th Batallion, 13th Regiment of the Wilde's Frontier Force Rifles. He did of heart failure after pneumoni on the 2nd December, 1929 in Jhelum. If anyone can help me locate the location of his grave I would be so grateful. Pam
